This year, for safety reasons, the Youth Fun Run is moving to the city’s Northside and will take place at the Nashwaaksis Middle School Track on Saturday, May 11th, at 2:00 pm.
“Ensuring everyone’s safety is paramount, which is why we made the decision to relocate the popular Youth Fun Run,” said Bruce Macfarlane and Christine Little, co-race directors of the Fredericton Marathon.
Moving the Youth Fun Run to the Northside track will provide a more secure area to host the 500 metre and one kilometre event for children, parents, organizers, and volunteers.
Parents/guardians will be required to pick up their child’s race shirt and bib at the marathon’s Race Kit Pick-Up at Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton.
“We understand that this move may be a little inconvenient, but we want to make certain everyone is off the streets and safe,” said Macfarlane and Little. The TritesOrtho Youth Fun Run is open to children two-12 years of age, features 500 metre and one kilometre events, and costs $8.75 plus taxes and fees.
