Two new records and two new courses stole the spotlight at the
Despite Sundayโs downpour, marathoners, half marathoners, and 10K runners took on the cityโs bridges, streets, and trails โ while Saturdayโs 5K participants and kids of all ages filled downtown Fredericton. In total, ๐ฏ,๐ฒ๐ณ๐ญ ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ were registered across the weekend.
Saturdayโs Evisitnb ๐๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ delivered fireworks of its own. Forty elite athletes raced two loops of the downtown core, and
(Sweets Corner, NS) set a new womenโs record in 16:39, smashing her own 17:27 mark from last yearโs inaugural race.
(Central Chebogue, NS) clocked a blistering 14:01, beating the previous 14:28 record set by Mike Tate (London, ON).
Nearly $๐ด,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ๐ was awarded to the top four elite women and top four elite men, along with recognition for the two new course records. The EVisitNB Elite 5K remains the only race east of Quebec City included in the 2026 Athletics Canada Road Race Label program.
This year also introduced a new 10K course and relocated the Trites Orthodontics Youth Fun Run to Queen Street and Officersโ Square โ bringing even more energy into the heart of downtown.
Keep an eye out for registration details for May 2027.
A huge thank you to every participant, volunteer, sponsor/partner, and supporter who helped make the 48th annual Stewart McKelvey Fredericton Marathon.
