Course maps for the 2022 Fredericton Marathon.

1k Youth Fun Run – Saturday, May 7th (2:00 pm)
The run starts on Aberdeen St near the pool area. Participants run to the trail and take a right. Continue past the Lady Beaverbrook rink to the triangle. Take a right and go around the triangle and return to the pool area.

5k – Saturday, May 7th (12:00 pm)
The race starts along the trail system from the Lady Beaverbrook Arena. Participants head north along the trail system, crossing Charlotte St., and George St., the Bill Thorpe Bridge straight onto the Nashwaak Trail. Participants continue along the trail, up to the turnaround point past the Devon Lumber Mill. Participants return along the same route to the finish line (starting point).

8k – Saturday, May 7th (10:00 am)
The race starts along the trail system from the Lady Beaverbrook Arena. Participants head north along the trail system, crossing Charlotte St., and George St., the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge straight onto the Nashwaak Trail. Participants continue along the trail, crossing Canada St. up to the turnaround point just before Gilbert St. Participants return along the same route to the finish line (starting point).

10k – Sunday, May 8th (8:00 am)
The race starts on St John St. between McLeod Ave. and Scully St. Participants run down St John St. and turn left onto Queen St., follow Queen St. to St Anne’s Point Dr., turn right on St Anne’s Point Dr. The course stays on the right side of St Anne’s Point Dr. and then heads up the on-ramp to Westmorland St. Bridge. Participants will cross over the Westmorland St. Bridge and take the second exit onto Union St. Participants will follow Union St. to Friel St., turn left onto Friel St. and run to the trail system where they will turn right onto the Northside Trail.

The course continues to the Nashwaak Trail (crossing McKeen St., Jaffrey St., Cliff St., Hughes St., Clark St., Neill St., Pine St., Gill St., and Gibson St.) where at Barker St., participants turn left along the Nashwaak Trail up to the turnaround point just past Canada St. Participants follow the Nashwaak Trail back to the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge, crossing the bridge onto the Lincoln Trail crossing George St. and Charlotte St., to turn right at Aberdeen St. Participants run down Aberdeen St. to the finish line at Queen Square Park.

21.1k – Sunday, May 8th (8:00 am)
The race starts on St John St. between McLeod Ave. and Scully St. Participants run down St John St. and turn left onto Queen St., follow Queen St. to St Anne’s Point Dr., turn right onto St Anne’s Point Dr. The course stays on the right side of St Anne’s Point Dr. and then heads up the on-ramp to Westmorland St. Bridge. Participants will cross over the Westmorland St. Bridge and take the second exit onto Union St. Participants will follow Union St. to Friel St., turn left onto Friel St. and run to the trail system where they will turn right onto the Northside Trail.

The course continues to the Nashwaak Trail (crossing McKeen St., Jaffrey St., Cliffe St., Hughes St., Clark St., Neill St., Pine St., Gill St., and Gibson St.) where it crosses Barker St. and turns left onto the Gibson Trail. Participants follow the Gibson Trail to McGloin St. (crossing Greenwood Dr. twice), turn left to cross Bridge St., and turn right onto Nashwaak Trail. The course turns just before the bridge over River St., and follows the Nashwaak Trail back to the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge (crossing Bridge St., Canada St., Kaine St., Gilbert St., Canada St., and Barker St.). The course continues across the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge and onto the Lincoln Trail to turn right at Aberdeen St. (crossing George St. and Charlotte St.) and turn right at the brick water treatment plant onto St John St. to the finish line!

42.2k – Sunday, May 8th (8:00 am)
Lap 1
The Marathon consists of two laps. The course starts on St John St. between McLeod Ave. and Scully St. Participants run down St John St. and turn left onto Queen St., follow Queen St. to St Anne’s Point Dr., turn right onto St Anne’s Point Dr. The course stays on the right side of St Anne’s Point Dr. and then heads up the on-ramp to Westmorland St. Bridge. Participants will cross over the Westmorland St. Bridge and take the second exit onto Union St. Participants will follow Union St. to Friel St., turn left onto Friel St. and run to the trail system where they will turn right onto the Northside Trail.

Lap 2
The second lap turns left on St John St., then left on McLeod Ave. and onto the Lincoln Trail. Participants will turn left on the trail and cross the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge. From this point, the course is the same as the first lap (turn right onto Gibson Trail and around the Marysville Loop) except for the participants turning about 1km further out on the Nashwaak Trail.
