The routes for the 45th annual Stewart McKelvey Fredericton Marathon have been approved for May 12-14 race weekend.
“We would like to thank the City of Fredericton and its various departments for partnering with us, as well as our sponsors and volunteers, to make this year’s anniversary event special for our participants,” said Christine Little and Bruce Macfarlane, the marathon’s co-race directors.
Participants taking part in the Saturday, May 13, the Saturday 3k and 5k event participants will cross the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge in an out-and-back course along the trail. On Saturday afternoon, Youth Fun Run participants will run on closed streets around Queen Square.
On Sunday, May 14, 10k, 21.1k and 42.2k participants will cross the Westmorland Street and Bill Thorpe Walking Bridges, giving them an opportunity to run on both the north side and south side of the city.
