Tasks will be assigned on-site based on event needs.
Typical shift: ~4 hours
Please be prepared to stand for most of your shift and wear comfortable shoes.
| đ RACE KIT PICK UP May 8 & 9 Delta Hotels Fredericton â Ballroom May 9 Officersâ Square 7:30am â 10:00am (5k and Youth Fun Run events only) Help participants get ready for race day in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. | You may be assigned to: – Laptop Check-In (confirm registration, issue bib & shirt) – Check-In Runner (retrieve bibs & shirts) – Map & Route InformationT-Shirt Exchange – Traffic Flow Support – Shuttle Coordinator (May 10 only) Helpful skills: Comfortable with technology, good communication, attention to detail. |

| đŚÂ COURSE TRAFFIC ATTENDANTS May 9 & 10 â ď¸Â Must be 21+ years old Stand at designated intersections along the trail route to safely stop vehicle traffic as runners pass. | We provide: Safety vest, stop sign, and orientation. |

| đ EVENT LOCATIONS BY DAY Saturday, May 9 5k: Queen St. by Officersâ Square (finish at Garrison Skate Park) Youth Fun Run: Officerâs Square Sunday, May 10 10k / Half / Full Marathon: Queenâs Square No onsite parking â street parking & LBR available | What to Bring – Comfortable shoes – Weather-appropriate clothing – Reading glasses (if needed) – Positive energy! If youâre unsure about anything during your shift, an event committee member will always be nearby to help. ROLE DESCRIPTIONS
đRACE KIT PICK UP ROLES
| May 8 & 9 Delta Hotels Fredericton by Marriott, 225 Woodstock Rd (Ballroom): Friday: 4:30pm- 8:00pm Saturday: 9:00am â 5:00pm May 9 Officersâ Square, 575 Queen Street (5k and Youth Fun Run events only) 7:30am â 10:00am Volunteers will assist with participant check-in and race kit distribution in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. |
| CHECK-IN (lap top) Role Description: You will greet participants, confirm their registration details using a laptop, and check them into the event portal. Once checked in, participants receive their race bib (with timing chip) and participant t-shirt (if eligible). Skills Required: – Very comfortable using technology – Strong attention to detail – Clear communication (English required, French an asset) – Good hearing in a busy environment – Reading glasses if needed (laptop screens are small) | CHECK-IN RUNNER Role Description: After participants are checked in, you will retrieve their bib and t-shirt, double-checking that all information is correct before handing it to them. Skills Required: – Attention to detail – Good communication and hearing – Ability to read small print – Comfortable standing for most of the shift |
| MAP & ROUTE INFORMATION (Delta Hotel Only) Role Description: You will be stationed near the course maps to answer questions about start times, locations, parking, water stations, terrain, and general event information. Volunteers should review the 2026 Race Routes on the website before their shift. Skills Required: – Good listening and verbal communication – Comfortable speaking with the public – Comfortable standing for most of the shift | PARTICIPANT T-SHIRT EXCHANGE (Delta Hotel Only) Role Description: You will manage shirt exchanges for participants needing a different size (subject to availability). Shirts must remain organized by size and gender for efficiency. Skills Required: – Organization – Attention to detail (shirt sizing is small on labels) – Listening skills |
| TRAFFIC FLOW SUPPORT Role Description: Welcome participants, hand out event bags, direct them to the correct areas, and help keep the pickup line moving smoothly. | SHUTTLE COORDINATOR (May 10 only â Delta) Role Description: Coordinate shuttle transportation from the Delta lobby to the race site and post-race return transportation from the Sobeys Regent Street parking lot back to the Delta. |

| May 9 & 10 Officersâ Square and Queenâs Square Volunteers will assist at the race start/finish areas and participant support zones. Common Race Site Roles These roles are similar across Saturday and Sunday events. |
| BAG DROP Role Description: Collect, organize, and store participant bags. Ensure bib tear-offs are attached to bags. Verify bib numbers at pickup. Skills Required: – Organized – Attention to detail – Good communication – Comfortable standing for extended periods | FOOD TENT (Post-Race) Role Description: Help set up, restock, and manage the post-race food and beverage area. May include setup and tear down and moderate lifting. |
| INFORMATION BOOTH Role Description: Answer participant questions about start lines, bag drop, facilities, and lost & found. Familiarity with the race site is important. | FINISH LINE – MEDAL DISTRIBUTION Role Description: Organize medals and present them to participants as they finish. Positive energy and organization are key. |
| TRAFFIC FLOW (On-Site) Role Description: Direct participants and spectators, manage lines at facilities, and assist with general site flow once the race begins. | FINISH LINE WATER STATION Role Description: Distribute water to participants as they finish and help restock supplies as needed. |

| â ď¸ Must be 21+ years of age May 9 & 10 PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers must be able to stand for approximately three hours. Role Description: Monitor low-traffic intersections where trails cross roads. Stop vehicle traffic as needed to allow runners to pass safely. | Responsibilities: – Monitor designated intersections – Safely stop and direct traffic – Communicate clearly with motorists and runners – Report issues to the Health & Safety Coordinator Requirements: – Age 21+ – Comfortable standing outdoors for extended periods – Confident, assertive communication – Mobile phone for communication What We Provide: – Brief training/orientation – Safety vest and stop sign – Support from race officials – A front-row seat to the action! |
