Hard to believe that the 2025 Stewart McKelvey Fredericton Marathon race weekend, taking place May 9-11, is almost here. You’ve done the hard work, so trust your training and get ready to celebrate your success – because we’re looking forward to celebrating it alongside you! To make sure we’re all as ready as we can be on race weekend, we wanted to share some information and a few reminders with you.

CHANGE OF RACE START TIMES

A friendly reminder that Sunday’s race start times have CHANGED! Full and half marathon now start together at 7:30 am and the 10k now starts at 7:45am.

RACE KIT PICKUP

It’s important that you pick up your race kit (or arrange for someone to do so) in advance of the event you are participating in. That’s why we offer times to do so on Friday and Saturday. This year’s race kit pickup is taking place at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton, 225 Woodstock Rd as follows:

  • Friday, May 9th – 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, May 10th – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

If you’re running/walking Saturday’s 9:30 am 5k Open, please make sure to pick up your race kit on Friday night. You can have someone pick up on your behalf, if you are unable to yourself.

**REMINDER
There is NO race kit pick up on Sunday, May 11.
See details HERE.

YOUR INFORMATION KEEPS YOU SAFE

Help us keep you safe! As soon as you pick up your bib, flip it over and add your information in the space provided – your name, any medical conditions, your emergency contact, and their phone number.

SWITCHING RACE DISTANCE

We understand that sometimes our training doesn’t go quite as planned. If you need to switch your race distance you can make this change at race kit pickup but give yourself some time as this will take a few extra minutes.

If you are looking to move up a race distance, this can also be done at race kit pickup, and we accept debit and credit.

HEALTH & WELLNESS EVENT EXPO

You never know what you’re going to find at the Fredericton Marathon Valley Graphics Health and Wellness Expo, which is held during race kit pickup. Be sure to check out the organizations and vendors who come out to support our event! You can learn more HERE.

RACE ROUTES

Though we will have volunteers and signs along the course, it is your responsibility to know the race route for the event you’re participating in. You can find the 2025 Race Routes on the Fredericton Marathon Home Page.

PARKING

Because of the race weekend events on Saturday and Sunday, some locations in the downtown area will have restricted access due to road closures and event operations. We encourage you and your friends to review the 2025 parking guide which contains a list of parking options, street closures and more. Also, to ensure the safety of marathon participants and volunteers, some streets will be closed around the race site and traffic will be delayed on others. Be sure to take this into consideration when planning how and when you will get to the race site on Sunday. More information can be found HERE.

The Gatorade for this year’s event is lemon lime – and it will be available at hydration stops along the race route.

Marathoners are expected to have their own gels, but we will have a limited supply available to help give you an extra boost should you need it. GU Energy Gel for full marathoners only will be available Sunday at the hydration stops near the 22K and 33K marks.
