The Fredericton Marathon is so proud to be a part of our amazing community, supporting the Anglophone School District West X-Country meet.

The Fredericton Marathon Legacy Program was established in 2019 as a result of the growing success of the Fredericton Marathon. The popularity of the Mothers’ Day weekend celebration of running accelerated due to an increase of runners and walkers, an increase of sponsorship and volunteers, as well as increasing interest from the City of Fredericton.

In an effort to give back to the community, a program was created with an emphasis on youth and named the Fredericton Marathon Legacy Program.

Through the Legacy Program, Fredericton Marathon joined with the Fredericton and Oromocto Education Centres of the Anglophone School District West (ASD West), lead by Joe Crossland, in a partnership designed to assist with the district’s Track & Field and Cross-Country programs, with funding provided by Fredericton Marathon.

The ASD West covers a significant portion of the Saint John River Valley. The benefits from the Legacy Program are available to the Fredericton and Oromocto areas, as well as to all elementary schools within the district with a program whether they are French or English. Ribbons are available to all schools for their events and other assistance is available to help with inclusion for all.

Proud to see so many future marathoners!
