The Trites Orthodontics Youth Fun Run is an important part of the annual Stewart McKelvey Fredericton Marathon.

This year, for safety reasons, the Youth Fun Run is moving to the city’s Northside and will take place at the Nashwaaksis Middle School Track on Saturday, May 11th, at 2:00 pm.

“Ensuring everyone’s safety is paramount, which is why we made the decision to relocate the popular Youth Fun Run,” said Bruce Macfarlane and Christine Little, co-race directors of the Fredericton Marathon.

Moving the Youth Fun Run to the Northside track will provide a more secure area to host the 500 metre and one kilometre event for children, parents, organizers, and volunteers. Parents/guardians will be required to pick up their child’s race shirt and bib at the marathon’s Race Kit Pick-Up at Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton.

“We understand that this move may be a little inconvenient, but we want to make certain everyone is off the streets and safe,” said Macfarlane and Little. The TritesOrtho Youth Fun Run is open to children two-12 years of age, features 500 metre and one kilometre events, and costs $8.75 plus taxes and fees.
